getting the week in order

May 7, 2012

Since getting married I’ve had to learn to get organized in areas I never had to before. (Shocker, I know.) One of these areas is meal planning. Each week I’m planning out what we’ll eat, when we’ll eat it and what we’re running out of and making time to grocery shop for it.

For a couple of weeks I had been making a little chart for myself where I tracked our meals, what ingredients I needed for each, what events we had in the evenings, and what items we were all out of.

Last night I told Cole I was done scribbling on a sheet of paper and needed something more official.

So I designed the Weekly Meals Chart (If you have a better name, let me know, this one is a bit dry). For each day there is space for what we’ll eat at lunch and dinner and then to fill in any commitments we have that evening.  (Take note the weekend has more room for commitments and less room for food 🙂 )

Below the week I have space to write “to-dos” for the week and what items we’ve run out of. And of course in the circle there is space for me to write the dates of the week.

meet our chart in action…

I’ve notice (from using the scratch paper in week’s past) that when I fill in the chart Sunday or Monday that it tends to look empty.. but don’t be afraid to fill it in as things come up throughout the week.

As a little freebie for your Monday, you can download the chart for yourself right HERE ! Enjoy!
